Around 8 million people a year are dying of cancer – Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, Husbands and Wives. Families torn apart by the death of a loved one from cancer.
There are events happening all over the world – from buildings in major cities being lit up to tea and cake events in church halls.
Every event, no matter how big or small, helps to take a positive and proactive approach in the fight against cancer and highlights that solutions already exist and they just need to be bought within the reach of everyone.
The campaign aims to explore how the global community can implement what is already known about prevention, early detection, treatment and care.
Please do your bit and mark the day in some way. Share posts on Facebook or Twitter. Donate to the many and various organisations and charities dealing with cancer prevention, research or support or if you have been touched by cancer, share your story and help raise awareness.
1 in 3 of us will be touched by cancer in some way – everyone knows someone who has been diagnosed.
