Because a lot of the information being shared was of a personal and delicate nature, we also set up a closed group on FB so that the posts didn't show up in everyone's profiles!!! This way, everyone can talk freely and openly about the more intimate issues surrounding hysterectomies; treatment and emotional issues.
Its become very clear that this kind of support group has been needed for some time, as to my knowledge we are the only womb specific support group in the UK.
We have recently been made aware by one of the ladies, of a research project being carried out by Dr Patricia Ellis at Hammersmith Hospital into womb cancer in the under 40's. You can find out more info about the research here https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=145577162187068
Because funding for projects is often difficult to come by, I decided to put my jewellery making skills to good use and set up a page on Facebook to sell items with the proceeds going to the research project as well via my own justgiving page http://www.justgiving.com/Kaz-Molloy1
If you fancy doing a spot of shopping then you can check out the goodies on offer here https://www.facebook.com/WombCancerResearch
We've also got something really exciting to tell you about - but I'm going to save that for my next post! So make sure that you spread the word about us, and remember "NO-ONE FIGHTS ALONE".
