My name is Cathy. I was diagnosed 2 years ago at the age of 53 with grade 1b stage 2 womb cancer that had spread to my cervix.
I was post menapausal & it started with a blob of blood in the loo now & then to everytime I pee'd.
Also no energy, lethargy etc. Went docs in 2016 & had a scan to check the bladder. Everything was fine. But the blob of blood in the loo continued so i stupidly thought it was due to the menopause!
In May 2017 i had a 3 week bleed & thought it must be a few eggs left in my ovaries?
My friend told me to go back the docs which i did. She sent me to have an ultrasound where she said i had a polyp. So i had to go in to have it removed & have a biopsy on it.
I still never thought about cancer. Then 2 weeks later i was told it was cancer.
I had a total hysterectomy a week after that. Then 6 weeks after that i had 5 weeks radiotherapy & 1 session of brachytherapy.
I still feel so tired most of the time now! Its left me with an urgent bladder. At the moment i've been off work for the past 3 months with vulval pain, never had pain like it before, plus stomach cramps, constipation etc.
I had a ct scan but no signs of "C" but hopefully i will be back to work soon.
The worst part for me pain wise, was after the operation having the polyp removed. I wasn't expecting labour like cramps every 5 mins for hours the next morning when i got home. & the pain/wind from the hysterectomy aswell.
The radiotherapy was painless but the fatigue was something else. But I'm here & feel extremely fortunate as I know some people aren't in the same situation!!
God bless them.
Good luck fellow girlies with whatever stage you're at??
