Ladies started arriving in Birmingham on Friday evening; most of us were staying in the same hotel so it was a great evening as we met up in the bar (who'd have guessed that one??) and got to know each other. Some of us had met last year but there were some new peachies around this year so it was great fun to put faces to names that we had only known via Facebook!!
Others arrived on Saturday and in the afternoon we made out way up to the town square - the area known as "the floosie in the Jacuzzi" - and then we got our peach knickers out and started waving them in the air!!!
It was a lovely sunny day and many people stopped for a chat and we had the chance to explain why we waving peach knickers about; the serious side of what we were doing and the reason why we were there.
As last year, we managed to persuade some of the local constabulary to pose with us for some photographs and some of the ladies even managed to climb aboard the open top sightseeing bus and we got some great photographs.
It was an amazing and emotional weekend for us all. It was wonderful to have so many brave and inspirational women together and also so nice that some of them came along with their husbands/partners and they felt comfortable being with us. Very often the men in our lives can get forgotten about but I am so pleased that the guys who came along at the weekend felt comfortable enough to be with us and join in - they also took some amazing photographs so thank you guys!
So we can rest assured that Birmingham has been "peached" again and lots of awareness has been raised. If you'd like to have a look at some of the photographs then pop over to the Facebook page here
Thank you to all the lovely ladies (and guys!!) who came along and I guess we'll see you again next year!!
