Sadly, 2016 was also the year we lost several more Peach Sisters. The latest one just yesterday morning.
Each loss just strengthens my resolve to do all I can to raise much needed awareness of womb cancer. There has to be something wrong with the system when the most common gynaecological cancer, which affects over 9,300 women a year (2014 figures, CRUK) gets hardly any media attention and has no national awareness campaign.
I am still being contacted by women who have recently been diagnosed yet knew nothing about womb cancer. How many more women need to die before womb cancer is taken as seriously as ovarian or cervical cancer?
So in 2017, myself and all the other ladies who are concerned enough to do something about this issue will make sure that we keep shouting and do all we can to push the womb cancer agenda.
Each Peach Sister we lose is one too many – we owe it to the ones we have lost to do all we can to raise awareness.
We hope you will join us.
